Actually there are wires that look like a washer on the end and attach to
the spark plug and then you screw that little nipple over the top of it,
e.g., lawn mower engines.

When I bougt my double platinum 3923s the top part
where the spark plug attaches had to be screwed to the
top of the spark plug.
Why is this? Are there spark plug wires that screw on
to the spark plug instead of clipping on?
