NOS octane booster

I was in the candy store today (auto supply dealer) and noticed the NOS
octane booster. All three types have the additive MMT. From what I have
read and seen before this is a bad thing for engines (sparkplugs, valves,
etc.) Could anyone enlighten me on this subject.
