Subject: DML: Got the Flowmaster on today
The sound is great once I get off idle, but as I get the R's up above 2200
or so it becomes pretty quiet -- of course, I'm not hearing it from the
outside. Didn't manage to make it sound like an 5.9L, though. I guess my
sixer isn't gonna rumble too much anyway, huh? :-)
Performance-wise, I noticed maybe a slight loss of low-end, but when I took
it on a brief highway stint (3/4 mile between onramp and exit) it seemed to
pull really strong above 3000. Does this sound right? However, I've only got
about 35 miles on a computer reset (from removing the battery to install the
6A box), so the truck's not running normally anyway.
Also, I saw the guy at the muffler shop stretch out the exit neck of the
muffler so it would fit, and it ended up a little oversize, maybe 1/8" all
around or maybe a little less. Should it have been a tighter fit? Should I
find that troubling at all?
Thanks,
- Alex/StL
