I don't know if you do all stop&go driving or what truck is set up like. I
would start with a good tune up. (Plugs, wires, cap and rotor, fuel filter).
Check the sensors. (O2, TPS, MAP). I have a Taurus Wagon for a company car
that I normally get 23-25mpg. When I was at a service school in Ct. I did
pretty much all stop&go around Danbury and it dropped to 16. My point is
where and what kind of driving will really change your MPG. Good luck
