For about the last week now, my truck has developed a rattling noise, which
seems to be coming from the front end. I jacked the front end up off the
ground to check for play in the tie rods/ball joints, but everything seems
tight. I checked the front shocks and they are also tight. Any one know what
else I should check? This noise is most commonly heard while driving over
bumps, but I have heard it a few times while on somewhat smooth roads. Any
ideas? I really though the ball joints were starting to go; it sounds
similar to my dad's work car, a 88 Taurus, which has needed ball joints for
about 2 years now :)
That thing rattles so bad, as you could imagine. I had an alignment done 2-3
weeks ago and the tech said all the front end components were good.
