All this discussion about RS camaro's
I can't speak about pre '88, But an 88 RS was a limited edition with 2.8l V6, only 5000 made. Only available in white, black, or red. Only option was whether or not it had the electric power group(windows, doorlocks, & hatch release). cost ~$15,000.
89 - forward RS nomenclature was the base model (non Z-28) available with 2.8 V6, or 5.0 V8 or 5.7 V8 . V6 model euivalent to 88 RS was priced at $12000. Got badly burned on resale value of girlfreinds 88 RS that she bought in July 88, 2 months later it was worth $10000 .Finally traded it in on 93 Z-28 (she's stuck on camaro's ) with 275 horse 350ci. Lots of fun, but my S/C 4.7 will beat it
