Well, I went ahead and picked up some NOS octane booster. I
found the silver can at PepBoys ($11.29) and a red can at AutoZone
($8.85). Both cans/boxes said the same thing and mentioned it would
raise the octane as much as 7 points. Well, I picked up the red box
stuff (off-road formula) at AutoZone and proceeded to fill up with Shell
94 octane.
WOW!!! I can't believe the bottom end that stuff gave me! I've only
managed to put about 20 miles on my Dak since filling up, but I can feel
a dramatic increase between 1800 to about 3400. Above that has improved
also, but not as much. $16 for increased bottom end ... yep I'll be
picking up some more.
