Geoffrey, you mentioned something about the glass sticking to the inside of
the housing right? You could have a small amount of moisture in your
headlight housing. I had this problem with my Dak and it drove me nuts for
about a year. The only thing I could figure was that the bulb would get hot,
the air outside would be cool, the housing would cool and condense the
moisture, the moisture would then get on the bulb and this would cause it to
shatter. Either that it is possible that the bulb had a slight residue on it
that cuased it to do that (ex. fingerprint, something from the factory....).
Next time try wiping the bulb down with either 99% rubbing alcohol or
denatured alcohol. And to dry out the housing, use a hair dryer, not once
but twice to completely dry the inside of the housing. I tried once, but I
ended up with a foggy haze on the backside of the lense. Hope this helps!
