Well, I made it to the last day of the season for Milan Dragway this morning
and never even got to make one run! I pulled up to the water box, did a
burnout with the drag radials, pulled forward, did a dry hop and...... BANG!
Broke the rear end!
I guess the great traction and new Centerforce Dual-friction clutch was too
much for the rear end. I have not yet inspected it to find out what broke,
but I suspect that the pinion broke. You can leave the truck running in gear
and watch the driveshaft spin!
Oh well, back to the old bank account. Its just a shame that I didn't get to
make even one run. And all this cost me $20 to get in and $75 for the tow
back home.
There is always next year though.
