29 mpg is my consistent best. The truck has bad days, just like any other.I
drive the same route over and over and have it figured out pretty good.I
have gotten much worse mileage, and it is getting cooler so I am expecting it
to drop off some this winter.I don't ever really drive it in town, so I am
able to get pretty consistent on the figures.I have not seen 30 mpg or more
at anytime, but 29 does not seem extremely hard to do.I do work at it.You
have to think about it if you want to stay consistent, but what else are you
doing traveling by yourself out in the boonies of texas? Thanks for the
comments and questions,

I know this is a stupid statement, so no flames:
An average of 29mpg means some trips of over and some
under 29mpg.
What is hard to believe that there were trips that
were over 29mpg. Think about it. A 4mpg variance of
highway driving would mean 25mpg to 33mpg.
A gut check would find it hard to believe that the
4.7l gets 33mpg.
The Dakota site had the mpg lised as 15mpg city &
20mpg highway. 29mpg = a 45% increase
(I'm guessing that the government standard is at
55mph)
I would be interested in knowing how it is done.
Thanks
