He probably did stall. When I had my '96 Splash Supercab 3 years ago, I
raced my friend's '97 RC v6 5-speed (mine was an auto). I got a good
braketorque and he launched decently. I pulled about 1.5 lengths to
50. They ain't the fastest things around, but stock for stock, 4.0 vs
3.9, they're a little quicker. now the 3.0 and the 2.2 I can't speak for
(OK I can speak for the 2.2. it's a dog. a neutered dog. Another friend
of mine had one)
