I talked to the folks at MSDS Cone filters and here is the reply. You are
right, there OEM product from S&B. It is MSDS patent filter not their.

It probably would be...but we sub-contract some of our MSDS air filters to
the company you are speaking of . Since they are overwhelmingly happy to
build filters for us, and probably 100's of other kit makers such as ours,
we
pass along the information in our product description that it is a "Patented

" design.
K & N, who also builds some of our filters, and has their own (30 % changed)

design, also retains a "Patent" on their cone air filter.Currently some of
the imported cotton gauze cone air filters (knock offs) are coming from
Taiwan and the far east. These are totally inferior as they are using a
cheap
mix of paper/ cotton and a heavy steel mesh screen. Of course the imports
are
ripping off the actual patent holders ! Thank you, msdsinc.
