Josh

I have not noticed any pinging and I have loaded it down by not downshifting
at times. At this point the car has only 1500 miles on it and I'm not
thinking of making it go faster.... yet, however, I would be interested in
what is out there. I do wonder how much can be done since the engine is not
an overhead cam as is the Neon (I assume the Stratus is OHC also, I have
replaced headgaskets on my sons Neon so I know for sure... everything went
easy except pulling off the crank pulley, pain in the ass).

For my first 4 tanks of gas I'm averaging 20.5 MPG. That is with about 50/50
highway and city driving. I expect the MPG to go up as the engine gets
broken in. If you care about specs the 2.5L puts out 120 h.p/5200 rpm and
peak torque is 145 ft-lb/3250 rpm. The rear in has the 3.9 diff. MPG is
listed at 20 city and 25 highway.

Thanks for the heads-up on making the truck faster. Now I have something to
think about and plan on.

ok mike, here's the obvious question: does it ping??? You said it moves
pretty good, and that's cool, it probably gets pretty good mileage huh? I
just have never seen a gen III with a 4cyl. And if you ever decide to make
it go faster there are millions of parts out there for a dodge 4cyl...neon,
stratus, all that stuff, you could pseudo-rice the motor....hmmm...Suprise
mode? hehehehe....
