   Red is positive, black is ground. If you were to forget again, just
follow the the cables to find out where they go. The positive cable will
go towards the engine, but the negative cable will usually tie in to the
chassis somewhere, so you'll know that one is ground. This assumes of
course, that your lawnmower doesn't use a positive ground. ;-) I think
the days of the positive ground are pretty much behind us though, so you
should be safe with the above info.
