Tony / Rich,
I can shed a little light on the Richmond transmission, my brother just put
one in his 64 Plymouth. The transmission (5 speed) is basically set up for a
GM no matter which one you order. The only difference between them is the
input shaft spline and length. We tried three different scattershields and
none would catch all four ears of the tranny. Not really a big deal, we just
got out the welder and some steel and added a pad for the forth bolt. You
will need a GM slip yolk and a conversion joint or a custom driveshaft. This
transmission is wider than a 833 and in the car, we had to extensively modify
the crossmember for clearence and for the mount. You will run into most of
the same issues with the six speed. Please let me know if you come up with
something less expensive.
