Steven, What were your 60' times?? I would guess 2.0 would be about the best
you'll see on radials. Anything above 2.1 is lousy traction. Just curious to
see how bad your 60' times were with those Goodyears??

Thanks to Bruce, for his usage of his helmet and the tip in lowering the RPM
(2500 stall to 1500) when leaving the line. I missed the days of driving a
4-speed Hurst shifter Chevelle anymore. Ripping the Badyears was a
miserable 60-100 feet of waste of time. However, what I had found Bruce,
the 1/4 time was almost the same. This was a complete disappointment on the
sludge-box MB automatic. Between second and third gear, it needs to be more
closer and fourth is a joke at 80-85. It is like catching a second breath
running it in the 1/4 mile. Comparing with the five-speed 4.7 it is almost a
second faster. These engine should run in the mid to high 14s with minimal
mods. With the multi-speed, it is a total joke. Yes! I had the OD off and
tried once in D and the other second gear. The gear proves my theory by
only .030 second faster. Yes! Maybe a .5 second on traction problems and
the high gearing 3.55 versus the 3.92. However, that second wind.

I sat home that night on what to do. Seeing the disappointing high 15 with
a 3.55 rear gears, and Badyears, if it is time to trade out or for the last
three mods. The three mods are the billet TB, exhaust system and suspension
(to include wheel package). Now if the goal of the truck is not met, I will
wait until January 2001 Detroit Auto Show on the scoop of the Dodge Dakota
HO Hemi or purchase the same 2001 version of Ted O. new truck. With Ted
truck, I have the opportunity for a 12-13 second street machine. At this
rate, I will only see a low 14 with a SC. (Read between the lines-not to
upset anyone)

Patterns? I looked at Aaron's ET based on his truck and mine, our times
were almost the same and I was totally upset with this slush automatic. I
know! I had the first reaction of 2.4...and yes! I was reading a book.
Trying the brake and gas in a auto is not that easy. Anyway, I needed two
more runs to make it into .6 times. From all the crowd, I had time for only
two runs. Should of ran brackets....like Steve O did.

I had to vent with the disappointment and my wife was relieve, knowing early
next year will come the expensive SC unit. Thinking I will either trade it
or stop where I am at...but you never know. I will have to compare any data
from other CC, 4.7, auto owners on 1/4 statistics, to include any
modification added.
