I used to be in the FD as well. we use red and white though. i also had a
set of taillight flashers. they flashed the brake lights and then the back
up lights. they came in very handy when someone was eating my back bumper.

So i was going home tonight from Maine to Connecticut when in my rear-view
mirror i saw this car weaving in and out of traffic on the highway, passing
people on the left and the right side lanes. Well i was in the left lane
cruzing along with eveyone else at 70 or so. Well he couldnt get around on
my right so he jumps right on my rear bumper. So far that i lost sight of
him in my side mirror. Well as a pet-peeve of mine this was not going to
happen. I drop the Dak down to 3rd...matt it and throw on my Blue strobe
lights that are mounted facing out the back window. I never saw a car nose
dive sooo fast in my life! I turn them off after a few seconds and pull
over to the travel lane. He follows me and slowly begins to back away into
the distance. He never tried to pass me until i got off the exit 150 miles
later!!!
I had a grin on my face from ear to ear the rest of the trip home.
(Just for sake of not causing a commotion as to having blue strobe
lights...Fire Dept. in Connecticut uses Blue lights, not red...)
