Something isn't quite right (or you're having too much fun with the truck).

Most 4.7L owners (on the DML) are getting anywhere from 14-18mpg (4x4 being
on the lower side).
I'd wait until your next service and write it down on the work order...just
to get it noted in writing and on record with Dodge. In the mean time, ask
around on the Dakota lists and see what other 4.7L (4x4) owners are getting.

So far service writers response was " dont feel bad i only get 12 mpg"
Only he drives a 2000 Ford super duty f 250!
