Yes. Absolutely it makes a difference. Get the 7200 RPM (if you are
building this computer you might want to make sure it has an extra case fan.
Higher speed hard drives generate more heat.

Anyways. I'm getting an AMD 1000 mhz processor, 256 ram, 32 mb nvidia video
card, 12x dvd, 40 GB 5400 rpm hard drive. 56k modem, etc.....
My question is, for an additional 39 bucks, is it worth it to have a 7200
rpm hard drive installed instead of the 5400 rpm? and will there be a
difference worth paying for? I intend to save a lot of MP3s onto the
hardrive, and play a couple high graphics games. Will it make a good
difference in PC performance, or is it just wasting cash?
