Since he being hit by so many e-mails, I am limited myself to few questions

In this county of Idaho a smog test is required. The VCM PCM has
the same mapping / emissions as a Viper PCM however it does not
support some of the OBD-II functions like misfire and evap leak test.
Here it passes the smog test, however they do not try and plug into
the OBD-II port.
Now as far as using a Viper PCM on the Dakota it could work
just fine. If the Viper PCM ever switches to use the J1850 bus
insted of the CCD bus I will switch over myself inorder to simplify
interfaceing to the rest of the truck subsystems. One other change
if you use the Viper PCM would be the use of the downstream O2
sensors not used with the VCM PCM.
I hope this helps,
Chuck Snodgrass
