Ok, I stand corrected on the aluminum block issue. I knew they had aluminum
heads, but thought the whole thing was aluminum. However, that's a mute
point. The 4.7L engine is MUCH lighter than the 5.9L Magnum. Not only are the
heads lighter, but it also uses a plastic intake manifold, and lighter
exhaust manifolds. The Hotchkis V-8 springs will not settle with the 4.7L
over them. That's a fact. This is something Hotchkis will have to address. I
guess I was the first owner of a 4.7L Regular cab and 5-speed tranny combo to
try their kit. All I know is, I put over 2,000 miles on the truck and it
never came down even a 1/4".
