I have done this for years myself with great
results.
Except i use a 32 oz spray bottle and squirt the water
down the tb/carb.while working the throttle linkage
and watching the exhaust.Let it get good and steamy at
the exhaust, stop and clear the steam out ,and do it
again. The squirt bottle only allows so much discharge
per squeeze of the trigger,so you adjust how fast you
squeeze the trigger on the reaction of the motor.

What?!? Where'd you come up with 30 seconds? This is
done over a
period of
close to two minutes.

If you're saying that this breaks
engines...Yeah...right. You don't
POUR
it...you trickle it down. (And you don't pour the
whole cup down at
once
either.)
