check it warm in neutral. If you can't see it on the stick , put more in.

I just changed the fluid and filter on my Vans 3.3L engine. I put in the =
4 quarts of ATF specified by the manual but after runing it through the =
gears and checking, I see none on the dipstick. The manual says it takes =
7 after an overhaul, 3 won't come out when doing routien maintanance.=20
My questions are as follows . . . .
1) was it a mistake to let it drain over night and too much fluid was =
removed?
2) do you check with the engine while it's running or not?
I would be grateful for any advice on this as I don't want to over fill =
the darn thing.
Dak content here -> I drove to the parts store in the Dak! ; )
