Okay Will, you got me. I forgot that I could switch between stock and Mopar
PCM... I was just saying that the Mopar units won't do me any good because I
put about 30k a year on the truck and am not about to burn 93 in the tank.
When decelerating in neutral I have the idle fluctuation, but it has never
stalled or been about to. The truck ONLY pings at WOT through 2nd and 3rd,
between 3000 and 4500 revs or so. I'm surprised that Mike Leach gave you 5
degrees without any ping - that's pretty dang good. What did your mileage go
to after Leach's work, and what did you specify to him? I'm surprised that
he'd have the computer figured out so quickly, it being a new engine and all.
If he flashed your stock PCM and can reflash it if you don't like it, why can't
Dodge? You clearly get better drivabilty than stock, so I'm curious about
mileage and power changes. Thanks.

Crit, What exactly are you refering to when you said
"the new PCMs won't do me much good when (if) they're released for the 4.7.
Because you can't go back afterward" ??? Are you refering too a Mopar
perf.
PCM, or the updated Flash from the TSB??? I realize once reflashed you can't
go back, but you can always swap your old PCM on right?? Are you having
Pinging problems now??? rough idle??? I had the rough idle when mine was
new, since then (22K now) I never have that problem, AND even with my Mike
Leach custom PCM with 5 degrees advanced timing I don't get any ping, never
tried 87 gas, I have tried 89 before, no ping.
I'd recommend Mike Leach, he can fine tune the PCM just like you want it,
whatever advance you want, or fuel curve increase, totally custom, and if you
don't like it, he'll put it back to stock and refund your money!
