3923 is the colder plug that most on the list uses. 5224 is the stock plug,
the equivalent colder plug is 5223. The difference between 39xx and 52xx is
how deep into the cylinder the plug goes. 52xx goes in deeper. The claims
are the 3923's provide more power, especially if you have an MSD
ignition/coil system.

Subject: DML: DML; 3924 or 5224

Hello,

Is the 3923 the correct 'colder' plug for 1997-up
dakota's 5.2L?

The parts catalog at www.autolite.com shows the
correct
plugs as 5224 and not the 3924.

What would the colder plug be for the 5224?

Thanks,

Brad K.
