I also did this swap, got the 5 rims for $600, bought the tires at
tirerack.com. I got Goodyear Eagle GTIIs, in 255/60/17, which puts a little
more sidewall on them (about a 1/2"). The stock 255/55s stand 28" tall,
whereas the 255/60s are 29" tall. Only throws my speedo off 3mph at 65.
(Speedo says 62, real speed is 65). I can live with that. I paid $488 for 5
of them shipped to my door, and had a local shop do the mounting/hi-speed
balancing for $125 total, so my whole swap was $1213. I sold my 5 15x8s with
rubber for $500, so my final cost was only $713 for 5 R/T wheels & tires.
Good tip: the chrome acorn nuts from the 15x8s won't fit under the R/T center
cap, but don't go buy them from Dodge. Just get a stud to use as a handle,
screw the acorn on, and grind away the top til it's flush, then they fit.
Saved myself $40 with that one.
