For the 8.75"...yes, there is one. I haven't been able to find one for the
8.25" either. :(

Subject: DML: 8 1/4 gear ?

I have a 97 Dakota v8-built to about 350hp with an auto. I am about to
install a Auburn trac-lock but have questions about the factory gear set
being strong enough (I like the 3.55 and don't want to change ratio), also I
have heard that someone makes a cover for this diff with the bearing hold
downs (like the mustang covers) but can't locate one.1997 was the first year
for the 29 spine with larger bearings and I haven't heard if they still
break at the bearing caps. I have never set backlash on one of these: shims
are gone and they use an adjuster with a tool that slides in the axle tube,
is this as easy as the service manual makes it look. Thanks in advance for
any input.
