 I have been useing puroilater aalot latey. There was a guy (much like us). He went and bought a bunch of name brand oil filters. He cut them open and was able to see the filtering agent and how much it was and do alot to them. I have lost the URL. He did a real good job. The best puroilater and WIX filters ( NAPA And Big A sell these ) The worst Fram. I was dumbfounded when I saw what Fram put in there filter. I will try and find the site tonight and post it.

I have the 318 as well and started using the 30001 filter. It is a bigger filter and can hold about 1/2 quart.
