Mike, I went through a similar (although not as extreme sounding) experience
about a month ago. Dealer replaced a solenoid and transducer (governor
sensor) and adjusted the throttle pressure cable. Apparently one of the
parts was faulty as they had to do it twice to get it right. It was covered
under warranty.
