Had this type of incident occur more than I care to recount. Doesn't matter
what you are driving, car truck bike. When I used to ride my Harley years
back, I used to keep a dozen or so old 1/2 inch nuts in my pocket. If I
couldn't politely get them to back off my rear tire, I'd pull one out, and
flick it over my shoulder (just like flipping a coin. It'd either get up on
their hood or windshield. Either way it got their attention.

These days I back off, get their plate, and call the authorities on the cell
phone, duck off a side road/next exit, chill for a second, then get back on
the road. It might not hurt if you tell the cops that they waved a gun at
you.

Hey, after having this happen several times over the years, I look at it as
their stupidity and foolishness isn't worth my life, or time in jail for
theaching them a lesson their parents evidently forgot to.
