Closed Loop is determined by more than just coolant temp. I highly doubt
that the engine isn't hitting at least 160 degrees temp (50 degree weather
isn't cold). Try letting it warm up a bit longer before driving. Also,
unless it's below 30 degrees, it will warm up enough. I run a 180 T'Stat
and have driven in 28 degree weather without any problems...same with my
buddy on his R/T (160 degree T'Stat) and several others with 180
T'Stats...no warm up problems.
Try resetting the computer and drive a little bit more light-footed. (It
will learn this driving style as well.)

Just a guess but it sounds like the truck is never warming up enough. The
comp
is never getting out of closed loop mode.
