Well I ended up buying a distributor 'pickup coil', Hall Effect sensor, call
it what you will. It is the plate which sits ontop of the distributor and
under the rotor. It ran me $35ish from Autozone, and it was really easy to
replace. While I was at it, I also installed a new Napa dist. cap and rotor,
yes they were the brass better quality parts. The cap and rotor from Napa
were $14ish. I took the battery out and cleaned it up really good, checked
all the TB sensors, plugs, wires, computer harness, everything I could think
of. I basically checked everything I could for 5+ hours; over the past two
nights after work. Well it still runs the same, and dies all the time on me.
I have no clue what else to check, other than replacing the crankshaft
position sensor. I did find it on the passenger's side of the engine, and it
looks easy to replace. So I am going in a few hours late to work tomorrow
morning, cause I am finally just taking my truck into get professionally
looked at. This shop I am going to is great, and the owner and head
mechanic, owns a 95 Dakota. He told me for $45 he will find out why my truck
is acting this way, and give me an estimate for repair. If is sounds like
something I can do, I will just pay him the $45 and fix it myself. I will
letcha all know what I find out. This way, I am not wasting money on parts
which dont need replacing. Thanks for everyones help and suggestion on this
ongiong issue. I really do appreciate it.
