Will,

The only thing I can interject is in relation to motorcycle motors. Back in
the early 90's, Honda Racing used a "Big Bang" motor which I believe fired
all four cylinders almost simultaneously. Maybe 30 degree's apart. This
motor was used in two stroke 500GP racing. This type of motor would provide
better traction because all the power would go to the rear wheel at one time
which would cause it to lose traction briefly but during the "off" time when
the motor wasn't producing power it allowed the tire to have maximum
traction. It might sound confusing but it does work. I don't know though
how that would matter in a boat motor.

Ok, after hearing about this motor and seeing it today in a boat, I got this
really crazy idea. They had a V-8 in this boat with a specialty crank and
cam that made it into one helluva 4 cyl! Yep, it had two cylinder firing at
once!! This was a bad sounding motor! Courious as to what gains were to be
had by doing this. Any ideas?
