The following instructions are based on the 2000 Dakota. I don't know
whether these instructions will work for any other year Dak.

If you have Power Door Locks, then "automatic door locking" can be used if
activated. The "automatic door locking" feature locks all doors once your
speed reaches 15 mph. The following are the instructions to
activate/deactivate this feature.

1. Close all doors.

2. Place the key in the ignition and cycle the key from the OFF position to
the ON position for a total of four times ending in the ON position, do NOT
start the engine.

3. Press the driver's side power lock switch to lock the doors within 30
seconds.

4. You will hear a single chime when programming is completed and the
"automatic door locks" feature will be activated/deactivated.

5. Following these instructions again will reverse the feature
activation/deactivation.

If you have "remote keyless entry" you may program the chirp on or off to
suit your taste. Follow these instructions.

1. Place the key in the ignition and turn the key to the ON position, do NOT
start the engine.

2. Press and hold the UNLOCK button on the transmitter for four to ten
seconds.

3. While the UNLOCK button is pressed, press the LOCK button on the
transmitter and then release both buttons.

4. You will hear a single chime when the programming is completed.

5. Following these same instructions again will reverse the
activation/deactivation of the chirp.
