Are you saying you didn't use the adapter?
The fumoto literature says the spacer is used for applications with
recessed drainplugs. I lined the valve and the adapter upa and they
have the same diameter, thread-size, and thread depth. The valve
installed fine w/o the adapter, so I just didn't use the adapter. I
didn't want to have that thing sticking out any more than it has to.
