Too bad all you So Cali folks missed out, we had a blast!! Sat, we went
to Corral Cyn, about an hour east of San Diego off Interstate 8, we hit
some pretty good trails, with VW size rocks, large ruts, snow, mud,
hills, lotsa good stuff. Only had 1 near stuck experience, got a little
crossed up in a large rut (I don't have posi), nothing a little "D" and
"R" momentum didn't fix, lol!! Also learned that holding the brake pedal
helped grab traction in the ruts also. Lotsa frame flexing, tires in the
air stuff. Got some good pics, friends got some good ones of me with my
wheels in the air crawling through a tight rock pass. Something to note,
my Dak sits higher than the other 3 Durangos that I was with. But I was
longer, which explained why I had an easier time climbing and crawling
then the Durangos (except when we were in the tight spots). They
bottomed out several times according to the drivers. I only hit twice,
and they were both light hits. But my Mopar mudlaps scraping sure scared
the crap out of me the first few times I heard it!! Averaged 19mpg on
the drive down, and 14mpg on the return trip (including the 4wd stuff).
Today, me and Rob (ss454454) went up to our usual mud hole up in
Azusa Cyn and played in the mud a bit, just like little kids, but we are
adults (well, we look like adults, but we don't act like adults when we
"play", lol!!).
