Ah, ur tensioner ticks or squeels?
if it does a cool (okay, ANNOYING) ticking sound, ur belt could have just
EXPANDED over it's use interval and it's basically added more slack to the
tensioner, making it "bottom out" on it's spring. Just check to see if your
tension is bottomed out.
you can probably open the hood and watch to see when it ticks. If it's
doing what I described, try replacing the belt. Found autozone to have the
cheapest belts around town, but for a quieter one. you can pay o'reily's an
extra amount of cash and pick up one of their gatorbelts.

Hi, I have a 1994 Dak sport, and it has recently been making a claknking
noise on the belt tensioner, so i took it too the shop, and they said that
it just needed to be lubricated. Well, $100.00 later I picked up my truck
and it was fixed! NOT!!!! The very next day the clanking was just as bad or
worse! What can I do? Does it need to be tightened, or what? The sound is
embarassing. What should I do? Its the belt tensioner.
thanks, Matt BADAZZDAK
