I bought the Optima 800U (red top, top/side posts) just after Christmas.
The hold down bracket leaves enough room to use the side posts. The
bracket is about 1/4" wider than the Optima itself but holds the battery
down firmly.

My Dak was on the driveway for about two weeks when temps. got pretty
cold (near 0F) and weather was snowy. I started it up when temp. got
to about mid-30s at the end of this period and it fired up immediately.
