Ok, I think the timing chain/waterpump/alternator replacement is
complete.
I got the leak fixed Saturday. The leak was coming from the
metal tube in the waterpump. I pulled the tube back out and sure
enough, the o-ring was shot. It wasn't cut in half though. It
had a big place missing out of it. I guess I damaged it putting
it in. I picked up two new ones at NAPA. I had to buy ones for
an a/c application because they were the only ones thin enough
to fit (they were blue instead of black by the way). 80 cents a piece, so I
bought two. Thanks to some advice from Kyle, I applied plenty of lubricant
this time around in order to avoid damaging the o-ring again. I also added
some RTV - figured it couldn't hurt. Gave her test drive a little while
later and it hasn't leaked a drop since.
I'll be working on the write up soon. If anyone has questions
in the meantime...feel free to ask.
