Only backwards in the sense that the t-stat is on the intake side (bottom)
of the water pump, not on the output side. You still install the t-stat
according to the directions... direction being temp bulb always towards
motor regardless of intake or output.

I think it has been determined that the 4.7's work better with the platinum
plugs (4417's). As for the t-stat, on magnum engines the optimal coolant
temperature is 183º. That's why people change out to the 180. Whether
that's true for the 4.7 or not I can't tell you. I can tell you, 1) if
you're going to change it, use a Robertshaw; 2) it's a bitch to change it on
4.7's; 3) the t-stat is installed backwards from the way the packaging says
to install it (that's because the 4.7's t-stat input is different than the
3.9's and 5.9's.). Pay attention to #2, you've been warned.

will changing the plugs to the infamous 3924s and changing my t-stat to
the 180 help to give more power to my 4.7?

thanks in advance
