The 89 Shelby Dakota had the 318. The Shelby Dakotas
had electric fans since space was tight in the engine
bay. The 90 was the same body style as the 89 and
didn't get the 318. In 91 when they redesigned the
Dakota there was more space for the fan so the
electric fans didn't have to be used for the 318. The
89 Shelby Dakota and 91 Dakota were the only years to
receive the pre-magnum 318s.
