DMLers,
I want to throw together a file for the DML home page that explains how to
configure the popular mailers out there to cause them to send their messages
out in "ASCII" or "plain text" instead of "HTML", "rich text", etc. Many e-
mail clients also send out attachments automatically.
Anyway, as you all probably know, messages with attachments or HTML in them
are bounced from the list. (The reason is that its a real hassle for folks
with plain text mailers, and especially for digest readers, no matter what
mailer they use.)
If you have had to change the settings in your e-mail client to cause it to
send out messages with plain text only, or if you know how it can be done,
could you send me an e-mail to let me know the exact procedure? I will also
need to know the program and version that applies to.
For example: Macrosloth Lookout 5: Go to file, settings, uncheck "rich text"
on the "outgoing e-mail" tab.
Anyway, I'll compile all this info into a file for the web site, and when
someone has a problem, I can direct them there, (instead of my usual response
which is comething along the lines of "there is probably a setting somewhere
along the lines of xyz in there somewhere, good luck!") so they can configure
their e-mail client properly.
Thanks very much in advance!
