I don't want to offend anyone, but why would you want to go over 100 MPH
in a Dakota on the open road? I have a Porsche which is designed and
very capable of going much faster than 100 mph (I think it can go 180
MPH) and I don't think I've had past 110 mph. Don't get me wrong, I
love my '00 QC, but have you ever seen what's left to them when they
wreck? I'm a frequent bidder at salvage auctions here in NY and I see
alot of wrecked Dakota's(along with all trucks and SUV's)and let me tell
you....it aint pretty!! Trucks (even the full size ones)are the worse
vehicles to be in a high speed wreck in. Maybe it's just a mixture of
me getting older,the fact that I see severely damaged cars every week at
auction and the fact that I worked in TV news for several years(moved
into production...alot less stress!)getting exposed to all kinds pretty
sites that has brought on this line of thinking. I love driving fast,
but to me the thrill is really in a 0-60 blast or even better yet flying
around a turn like you're on rails....with something that is designed
for it. Again just sharing my 2 cents worth, don't let me rain on the
parade.
