Subject: DML: Hughes Engines 4.7L 68mm flow data is in......

Ok folks, I talked to Hughes Engines this morning and Dave has flowed the
4.7L 68mm TB in stock form, and after his Stage I mod. and here are the
DISSAPOINTING results.

65mm TB (Stock) 400 cfm
65mm TB (Stage I) 450 cfm

68mm TB (Stock) 420 cfm (5% increase over stock 65mm)
68mm TB (Stage I) 454 cfm (1% increase over Stage I 65mm)

Dave says the "entry radius" is to sharp and there is no material to broaden
it. We may have to add an "attachment" on the outside of the TB to extend
this entry radius. This added piece would be part of the air intake system.
Dave is still working on the 68mm TB at this time to see if he can make it
flow better. I should have it back by Friday or Monday. I'll give final flow
results at that time. I must add that Dave is determined to get the most he
can out of the TB, so he's not giving up on it yet!
A new billet TB, like Bruce's unit sounds like the best idea for major flow
improvement at this point. We'd need to compare flow numbers, and price to
make a good judgment.
