Hey, just for references. I found that my 97 dakota v6 didn't have this
"vacuum cap" also. I was listening for a vacuum leak one day and whoola.
It was just a bare piece of metal sticking out right under the PVC hose. I
capped it and nothing since.

replacing your pcv valve along with the cap and see if it cures the
