3-way component speakers

Hi everyone,
Has anyone installed 3-way component speakers in thier dak? They aren't too
common, I've done web searches and only found a couple systems. I'd like to
install 6 1/2 - 8" in doors and midrange and tweeters in kickpanels. Is this
an big improvement over 2-ways?
