At stock system voltages the MSD is able to produce enough voltage to jump
the stock plug gap and they suggest opening it another .005-.01. Increasing
system voltage would allow you to increase the gap even more or jump a
smaller gap under more severe conditions(nos/blower). However, the optimum
plug gap range is well within MSD/normal system voltage capability and you'd
probably need a full race moter to use enough juice/boost to require more
voltage.
