Cayuga Ont. track opening day

Hi, all.

The time is approaching. Cayuga International Dragway gates open
at 10 a.m. on Sat. April 7. Admission is free (donation to local charities
is strictly on a volunteer basis at the gates).

The track is about an hour from the Buffalo Peace Bridge and a map
can be found at:

   http://www.niagara.com/~tinduc/cayuga.html

Test & tune usually starts around 11 a.m. If you decide to come, come early
and get through tech line asap before the long lineups start. If you have the
track's laminated card with the vehicle's race number, you'll sail through tech
but, if you don't, you'll have to fill out a form and get a card before
going through
tech. The staging lines usually get packed up around noon.

Jason and Norah made the trip in from Toronto last year with Jon Steiger
and Bill
Tierney (got to hear Bill's sweet truck running down the track and posting up
some great times) coming up from New York State. Dave Waco's black beauty
spanked me pretty good on a heads-up run BUT I was experimenting with
a custom-programmed PCM which proved to be a mismatch for my setup
(that's my story anyways).

I hope that you all can make it this year. I'll be testing to find out if
I've fixed
my sticking-in-a-gear problem (those governor pressure sensors (transducers
and governor pressure solenoids are sure EXPENSIVE).

BTW, the track is now a IHRA sanctioned track for this year. IHRA spokesman
says that the track's owner knows that it will need a 7-figure upgrade to meet
their standards. Soooo, watch out for those potholes just pass the traps ...
nothing like hitting a salom course right after a 1/4-mile run !!!! (J/K)

Bob
