It actually is a standard size. Car stereos are measured by "DIN" - most
regular cars use a 1-DIN height. GM and Chrysler use a 1.5-DIN, and others
even go up to 2 DIN. An adapter to fit a 1-DIN unit into a 1.5-DIN opening
is a very standard, very common, very cheap part, available anywhere you can
buy car stereo equipment.
