Hmmm....I'm told the Tivo units do 1 GB per hour for standard quality and 3
GB for high quality. They do MPEG-2 format.

Hi Ron,

I'm by no means an expert on this, but ..

I do have an episode of the Simpsons ["Grade School Confidential"] in .AVI
format. The episode itself is about 21 minutes long, and the file is about
22 megs. Roughly one meg a minute. That's for "okay" quality video with
"okay" quality sound. Obviously if you want high-quality video and sound
the size will go up.
